AARINENA: A rich resource of information on Agricultural Science in the Arab World

The website of The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) www.aarinena.org/ is a very impressive location for updated information on agricultural research in the Arab World. AARINENA was established in 1985 to strengthen cooperation among national, regional and international research institutions and centres through the dissemination and exchange of information, experiences and research results.
 AARINENA includes five sub-regions:  
 
              Arabian Peninsula (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE)               Maghreb (Algeria, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia)
  •          Mashreq (Cyprus, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Authority, Syria)

  •          Nile Valley & Red Sea (Djibouti, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen)

  •          Western Asia (Iran, Pakistan, Turkey)

 
The website includes a variety of interesting and veru useful feature, most notably are:
 
1- Specific portals for the various sub-regions including specific information on each country served by AARINENA.
 
The documents repository is a great resource of information that includes hundreds of planning, operational and technical documents that form a comprehensibe body of knowledge on AARINENA's activities and agricultural sciences in the region.
 
This network has been one of the most sustainable and growing in the region. It has been in existance since 1985 and proved to be effective and is always a reliable reference for the best resources in agricultural reserach in the region.
