Cleaner Production Programme in Jordan

Cleaner production practices and applications have gained a lot of momentum in the Arab World lately as a technologically effective and economically affordable method for reducing pollution and enhancing effeciency in resource use.

Cleaner production applications in Jordan have been mainstreamed and coordinated by the Cleaner Production programme implementing by the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the Friends of Environment Society and supported by the The Institute of Environmental Technology (IfU) and the Sustianable Business Associates (SBA).

The Cleaner Production programme has launched a resourceful website http://www.cp.org.jo/ that includes a package of case studies.

The main scope of activities of the programme are:

1- Cleaner Production assessments.

2- Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

3-Cleaner Production Excellence Model.

4- Cleaner Production and Environmental Economics.
