I have been on a low blogging diet for the past two weeks. I have been focusing all my time on finishing my current employment as a national coordinator for a GEF/ UNDP project called National Capacity Self Assessment for Global Environmental Manageent (NCSA) which aims at defining national capacity constraints for the implementation of global environmental conventions for biodiversity, desertification and climate change in Jordan and proposing an action plan for capacity building.
So, my mind was concentrating on the final financial and progress reports, final studies and assessments and the proposed action plan for implementing the conventions. You can take a look at the project from its website http://ncsa.moenv.gov.jo while the final documents will be posted soon on the site.
I have finished my contract today, after submitting all the deliverables. I am currently in a stage of unemployment. I decided to take one month off from any work since I feel so exhausted now. I have been working in the past 10 years from one project to another in NGOs, universities, government entities, international organizations and community organizations and I feel now I need to rest for a while and focus on my future career step. I feel that I need to work in a field assignment where I can meet with people and manage to achieve results on the ground rather than paperwork.
I am continuing to write my daily arabic column for addsutour newspaper and have two consultancies to fill my time but I will try to do a lot of things I missed especially with my family.
I have a lot of aspirations and hopes for this Arab Environment Monitor and I am planning to enhance and diversify the content next year and to make this blog a credible source of information for all the concerned environmental communities in the Arab world and beyond.
I wish all a happy end for 2006 and a very prosperous 2007 full of joy, love, caring and sharing since these are the feelings that gives us energy for life.
