Blogging has developed into one of the most exciting and interactive media revolutions to be recorded in the information technology and outreach history. The phenomenon that has started a few years ago as a platform for expressing personal thoughts and reflections, has turned into a major alternative media outlet and increasing impact.
The strongest added value for blogs are their simplicity and never-ending opportunities. The blogs are sweeping away traditional websites, and any websites that do not include interactive tools are expected to be "decomposed" in the true environmental sense!
As an active environmental researcher and writer, I have been following the environmental media in Jordan and the Arab world and also the blogging wave in the past year, and I thought it would be an important experiment to try to link the two sectors together and establish a specialized Jordanian environmental blog.
This blog will strive to act as a source of information and analysis on the Arab environmental conditions, with special focus on Jordan. The blog will target the environmental community in Jordan and the Arab world and the internatioanl audience as well trying to reflect a true and credible picture of the environmental conditions in Jordan and the Arab world with both positive and negative manifestations.
The blog will be based on genuine and credible scientific bases and try to express informed judgements on the environmental issues in Jordan and the Arab world. It will document all resources and credits to sources of informations as they appear on the blog.
I hope this blog will provide a positive impact and assist all visitors and readers to increase their knowledge of Jordanian and Arab environmental issues.

Stumbled across it while researching an article on fish deformities in the Gulf of Gabes: http://naturedata.wordpress.com/2009/04/05/spine-deformities-in-fish-are-8-times-more-likely-in-polluted-areas-messaoudi-et-al-2009/
All the best.
