Environment & Development magazine documents the impact of the war on Lebanon

 
During the last 10 years the "Environment & Development" magazine in lebanon proved to be the leading popular environmental publication in the Arab world. The monthy magazine, published by Mr Najib Saab secured its state as a verified and credible source of information, and a source of monitoring and evlauation of the performance of the Arab official environmental institutions.
The magazine proved its resilience and professionalism by the mere fact of being able to publish its ordinary September issue documenting the environmental impacts of the Israeli war on Lebanon.
The September issue includes important reports from the field documenting the environmental impacts of the war including the first underwater photos of the oil spills in Beirut coast, and the resulting air pollution from bombing factories and industrial complexes as well as impacts on the agricultural season
 
.
 
In this issue two important articles were contributed by Achim Stiener UN Under Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and Dr. Habib Al-Habr Regional director UNEP/ROWA.about the environmental impacts of the war.
