Organised by the Oman International Trade and Exhibition (OITE), under the patronage of Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources, the exhibition will run until September 14 and provide an important networking platform for professionals related to the environmental sector locally, in the AGCC, the Middle East and internationally.
The event focuses on air, water, energy management, alternative energy development, recycling, hazardous chemicals, environmental technology, agriculture, housing, wildlife protection, eco-tourism and soil transportation.
It will cover full range of environmental products and services targeted at architects, designers, contractors, energy personnel, industrialists, HSE managers, publications, fleet managers, water and desalination experts and environmental experts and practitioners. Gulf Eco is targeted at corporate organisations, government employees, environmental publications, media and the general public. It’s a unique platform to meet and interact with influential officials who are end-users of products, services and technology related to all aspects of the environment.
The Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources is actively involved to implement national plans for environment protection thereby extending full support to the exhibition. Not to forget, Environmental Protection is a top priority in the nation’s next Five Year Development Plan.
The Sultanate actively follows measures towards environment conservation and this year focus is on combating desertification besides the other environmental issues.
According to the organisers, there has been tremendous response from participants for the 2006 event. Gulf Eco merged with Water Technology and Conservation Exhibition has participation from Ministries of Housing, Electricity and Water; Agriculture and Fisheries; Health and Ministry of Tourism.
