Green Industrial Hub established in Jordan

Al Mushatta industrial hub is emrging as a promising and attractive location for new industries in Jordan. The hub is established in a strategic location adjacent to the Queen Alia Airport in Jordan and spans an area of 4.4 million square meters of state-of-the-art infrastructure for attracting new industries.
The environmental added value of this hub is its special eco-friendly infrastructure. According to Arabian Business Magazine the Energy Management Services (EMS) Company is  proposing to transform an industrial hub in Jordan, to a new environmental friendly ‘Green Industrial City'.
"The green concept focuses on three major aspects, energy efficiency, water efficiency, waste and environmental efficiency. "All of these aspects amount to a huge economic benefit," said Omar Al Shobaki, marketing manager, EMS, Jordon.
Phase one of the city, approximately 1.3 million m², is complete and includes the main management and service buildings.
EMS will bring cost-saving and comprehensive energy-saving solutions to the industrial city.
"The infrastructure is complete with water wells, power transformer, road network accessibility, advanced telecom utilities to accommodate for networks and digital solutions, voice services and ISDN connections, fire fighting connection and sewage and water treatment plants," added Shobaki.
The company will have a contractual agreement with the city and it will take a minimum of three to four years to complete.
Jordan has been seeking to develop private sector led special economic areas and economic hubs completely equiped with proper infrastructure. The example of Al Mushatta is setting new standards in integrating environmental considerations in the construction process. This should be the norm and not the exception for a water and energy scarce country.
