The first conference on green buildings will be held in Amman between 22-23 April 2008 under the title "Think Green". The Conference aims to bring together key stakeholders to promote environmentally-responsible design and construction methods and solutions that foster sustainable economic development. The Conference is supported by the World Green Building Council, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Greater Amman Municipality, National energy Research Center and the EU-financed Energy Efficiency in the Construction Sector in the Mediterranean Project [MED-ENEC] among others.
The Conference is designed to educate, empower and inspire industry professionals and real estate developers to direct investments into efficient, cost effective and sustainable projects that reduce the use of non-renewable resources and minimize environmental impact during the entire lifecycle of the project.
The Conference is aimed at senior decision makers from across the region in the following categories: architects, designers, consultants, specifiers, planners, developers, contractors, local authorities, real estate professionals, environmentalists, quantity surveyors, manufactures and suppliers. The conference will include 6 panels discussing international trends in sustainable design and construction, the business case of green projects, sustainability checklist, energy and water in green building systems, greening tall buildings and moving forward with regulation and governance
