Last month I was involved in the translation of the landmark report to be released by the Arab Forum on Environment and Developemnt on Nov 19th in Beirut entitled "Impacts of Climate Change on the Arab World".
From my review of three important draft chapters I can say that the report will be a comprehensive outlook on the impacts of climate change on the region, documented for the first time in such a methodological manner. the report also include policy-orinted recommendations and analysis. One of the most impressive chapters is written by Prof Mohammad Al Ashry, former CEO of GEF and has designed a set of recommendations for Arab negotiators for Copenhagen.
For all researchers and policy makers who are interested in evidence based analysis on climate change impacts on the region, stay tuned for the release of the report that will set new standards for collective thinking in the region.
